Grade 7 To 12 Model Not Even Close To Done Deal

There are questions whether a grade 7 to 12 model will be implemented at Dryden High School.
Director of Education Sean Monteith says feedback from parents and others has been overwhelming and notes their concerns are being listened too.
Monteith says one thing they are hearing in an unprecedented manner is how parents are satisfied and content with Open Roads School, New Prospect School and Lillian Berg in Vermilion Bay.
He notes parents continue to talk about the individual schools, their teachers and the programs being offered.
Monteith says if the consensus is that Dryden doesn’t want the model, then at the end of the day staff and trustees will honour that.
He says they will keep their on-line survey going for a couple of more weeks before staff come back with a report.
Monteith admits he’s surprised with the response from the public, noting they’ve had well over respondents to the survey or people coming out to public consultations.
He stresses they want to ensure they make the right decision.
