The Keewatin-Patricia District School is out with the latest Education Quality and Accountability Office test results for Grade 9 and 10 students.
64% of grade 10-students were successful in reading and writing in the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, which is a slight decrease from 2012.
The remainder of the students will take a literacy course.
Meanwhile for Grade 9-students, 33% of applied math students met the provincial standard, which is a 1% increase.
77% of advanced math students are achieving the provincial standard.
Director of Education Sean Monteith is overall pleased with the results.
He says their graduation rates are at the provincial rates or exceeding them in a number of local secondary schools.
However, Monteith stresses that more work needs to be done to boost numbers.
