Grant (Gringo) Ollis

In loving memory of Grant “GRINGO” Ollis, aged 52 years of Dryden, who passed suddenly with “his girls” beside him. Gringo is survived by his wife Kathy and two young daughters, Katelynn & Kallie. He is also survived by his mother Phyllis Ollis, sisters Debby (Albert) Marion, Irene Ollis and brother Darcy (Nancy), his in-laws: Jim & Cyrena Wright, Kim (Ardel) Oversby & Taralynn (Harold) Wright and Greg & Charlene McKee. He will also be sadly missed by nephews: Jason (Peggy) Marion, Jonathan Ollis, Blaine & Matthew (Amanda) Oversby, and Davin & Cody Arnold, great-niece Alyssa and nephew Ethan Marion, all of Dryden. Grant was predeceased by his father Roy Ollis.

Born on December 23, 1956 in Dryden, he met his future wife Kathy Wright in 1989 at Route Lake Lodge, while working together and they were married in 1993. Grant and Kathy have two beautiful daughters Katelynn and Kallie, which he cherished.

Gringo always enjoyed the outdoors, which is where you were likely to find him, when he wasn’t working. He especially loved hunting and fishing especially with “his girls” and friends surrounding him. He will be missed by his many friends. You would often hear him listening to country music.

Gringo worked most of his life driving one type of truck or another. He had his own truck business for several years and was recently working for Ricci’s Trucking.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 at 10:00 am at the First United Church in Dryden, with a private interment to follow at a later date.

If friends so desire, donation may be made to the Katelynn & Kallie Education Trust Fund through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Avenue, P8N 2X3
