Grass Fire

A busy afternoon Monday for Dryden Firefighters.
Officials suspect a cigarette tossed from a passing vehicle ignited tinder dry grass along Islandvue Rd around 2PM.
6 City units with 21 firefighters along with 3 MNR units & a crew of 12 battled the flames for a couple of hours before gaining the upper hand.
A water bomber was called in to assist but was not deployed.
