The Ministry of Natural Resources says its had to respond to five grass fires in the region since the start of the fire season two weeks ago.
Debbie Mclean is a fire information officer with the M.N.R.
and says the quick snow melt has created conditions ripe for fast-burning wildfires.

The largest fire burning right now is in the Fort Frances district. Its seven hectares in size, but Mclean says they should be able to declare it out by tomorrow.
