After halting traffic on the Kenora By-Pass for more than 12 hours yesterday, a blockade has finally been taken down.
A spokesperson for the O.P.P. says they were able to open up Highway 17-A around midnight after the protesters had disassembled their gear.
The Rainforest Action Alliance and members of the Grassy Narrows First Nation set up the blockade to protest clearcut logging operations on Grassy’s traditional land use area.
The O.P.P. have not indicated whether any charges will be laid in connection to the incident.
