Grassy Narrows is preparing for a long legal battle to protect its treaty rights.
The Provincial and Federal Governments have indicated they will appeal an Ontario Superior Court Ruling that upheld Grassy’s battle against clear cut logging activity in its traditional land use territory.
Chief Simon Fobister says they are in it for the long haul.
Fobister says he was expecting the appeal.
Fobister expects the case to go all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada, no matter how the Ontario Appeals court rules.
