Grassy Narrows Obtains Unreleased Report

Quite Shocking.
That’s the reaction of Grassy Narrows Chief Roger Fobister after reading an unpublished report on mercury poisoning in 2009.
The report states that more mercury from the Dryden Mill was dumped into the water around the First Nation back in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
It also shows the federal and provincial governments failed to properly address widespread mercury poisoning among its members.
Fobister says he’s focused on a strong relationship with Queen’s Park to correct the issue.
He’s calling on the government to clean up their river system and maintain dialogue with the community.
Fobister adds they are seeking larger compensation through the Mercury Disability Health Board.
