The provincial government is putting 3 million dollars into promoting post-secondary institutions in northern Ontario.
Confederation College, along with five other northern colleges, will receive the money for the three year marketing initiative, and are trying to attract students from southern Ontario to study in the region.
MPP Michael Gravelle made the announcement on Friday, and says the Liberals want to invest in the north.
Gravelle says sometimes the demand in southern Ontario is high and students aren’t able to access the courses they want or able to get in as quickly as they want.
The money will come from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
