Green Party Down To One National Seat

The national Green party is down to one member once again.

MP Bruce Hyer was defeated in the riding of Thunder Bay-Superior North Monday night.

Hyer was originally elected to Ottawa as a member of the NDP, but ran under the Green banner after crossing the floor.

He says he has no doubt switching parties affected his chances of winning.

Hyer adds he plans to write a couple of books, and do some international consulting in Europe and Japan.

Hyer says he believes Trudeaumania made all the difference in this election.

Another Thunder Bay politician, John Rafferty of the NDP, has also indicated he plans to leave federal politics.
