Greg Rickford Back In Toronto; Open Houses Still Taking Place

Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford has been forced to return to Toronto to deal with legislation aimed at preventing a strike of about 6,000 unionized workers at Ontario Power Generation.

A 21-day strike notice was issued last week.

Government House Leader Todd Smith says legislation to ensure that Power Workers remain on the job will be introduced.

The NDP plan to do what it can to stall passage, which is likely to happen on Thursday.

Despite the fact that Rickford is back in Queen’s Park, Christmas Open Houses in Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances are still happening this week.
