Greg Rickford Pleased With Progress On Ring Of Fire

The Federal minister for the Ring of Fire is pleased with the recent developments surrounding the giant mining project.
Greg Rickford says the recent purchase of Cliffs interests by Noront Resources is a step forward.
The Natural Resources Minister says he was disappointed with Cliffs from the get-go.
Rickford is also firing back at recent comments from NDP MP Carol Hughes that the government isn’t doing enough to move the project forward.
Rickford says Hughes doesn’t realize major strides have been made and says her comments simply reflect how desperate the party has become on the issue.
He points to recent resources provided to examine an east-west corridor and adds First Nations are pleased with the recent developments.
Rickford says they are where they need to be as levels of government and stresses the province has come a long way to address issues of concern.
