A Greyhound bus driver is being credited for keeping a packed bus on the Trans-Canada Highway after an unruly passenger grabbed the steering wheel.
A 24-year-old Alberta man is in custody after he allegedly
grabbed the wheel during a trip from Winnipeg to Kenora, last Friday night.
RCMP say the passenger tried to force the driver to stop on
the Trans-Canada Highway near Falcon Lake.
Reverend Stephen Jarmus, who was aboard the vehicle, says he was dozing when he awoke to feel the bus swerving from side to side.
Jarmus says he saw a passenger grabbing at the wheel, but the driver calmly kicked the attacker away to keep the bus under control.
Two other passengers then held the man until police arrived.
Mounties say no one was hurt, but the man was taken to hospital to be checked out.
No charges have been laid.
