Hampton bullish on future of the north

N.D.P. leader Howard Hampton says he’s optimistic the economy of northern Ontario can turn around after a disasterous year for the forest industry.

Hampton says this region is resource rich, and in a world that has a dwindling supply of raw materials, northern Ontario should be able to prosper.

N003 Q: …TURN AROUND. (20 SECS.)

Hampton says the provincial government has to realize that
forestry isn’t a twilight industry and there is a good future for lumber and mining.
