Hampton on Minimum Wage

The NDP say they will be launching a campaign this fall for a 10 dollar minimum wage.

Yesterday, a private members bill passed second reading in the Ontario Legislature.

NDP leader Howard Hampton believes the government will try to kill the bill before it comes up for third and final reading.

The minimum wage currently sits at $7.75 an hour, but is scheduled to rise to 8 dollars an hour in the new year.

Hampton says he’d like to see it go up even further.
