Hampton on Student Travel Grants #1

The Provincial Government is turning its back on

Northwestern Ontario students who go to a Manitoba

University or College.

The McGuinty Government recently announced 300 dollar

grants to post-secondary students in the region who travel

80kms or more to their Ontario based school.

Kenora-Rainy River MPP Howard Hampton says the travel

grant is a start, but lower tuition costs are what is

really needed.

Students will be able to apply for the grant this year

and the program begins in September.
