Hampton Opposed to Water Diversion

North Dakota is trying to divert water from Lake of the Woods to
consumers in that State.
However, Kenora-Rainy River MPP Howard Hampton is putting his foot
down and has asked the Feds for help in his fight.
Hampton says if the American state is allowed to take water, that
would open the floodgates for others.
The NDP Leader says North Dakota wants to take 70-million cubic
metres of water from Lake of the Woods, which he believes would set a
dangerous precedent.
