Hampton Targets Deceiving Salespeople

Kenora-Rainy River MPP Howard Hampton is warning consumers about certain door-to-door salespeople selling electricity.
Hampton says some salespeople wearing Ontario Hydro Energy jackets are really working for Union Energy,an Alberta-based private company and not the former public utility.
Hampton says numerous residents have filed complaints with his constituency offices after feeling deceived upon reading the small print in the contracts they had just signed.
Hampton wants MPPs at Queens Park to pass legislation protecting consumers from door-to-door electricity marketers.
