A happy ending to a missing dog story.
The German Shepherd ran away from home Saturday and was found in the chilly waters of an area lake the same day.
Dryden Police say the dog fell through the ice and couldn’t get out.
It was the work of Sergeant Silver, Constable Howarth as well as local residents Brian Tardiff, Bill Lomas and Roy Orvis that saved the day.
The five used a 25-foot tree and placed a rope around the dog’s neck and pulled it to safety.
The pooch was then reunited with its grateful owner.
