Hospitals across Northwestern Ontario are being urged to work more closely together to resolve their emergency room staffing shortages.
The Northwest Local Health Integration Network hired a consultant to draft a report on Emergency Departments across the region.
Spokesperson Laura Kokochinski says hospital’s in Dryden, Atikokan, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, Kenora and Fort Frances were all consulted for the study.
Kokochinski says the goal of the report is to find ways of addressing staffing shortages and wait times across the Region.
She says a total of 25-recommendations were made by the consultant.
