Pregnancy and smoking are two words that just don’t mix.
A workshop was held today in Dryden for health care professionals in the area who work with pregnant women.
Health Promoter with the Northwestern Health Unit Christine McLeod says it allows them to network with each other about things that have worked.
“It’s a very important thing to teach health workers to get those little tips and tricks to help mothers stop smoking and get them through those nine months and do what’s best for their baby.”
McLeod says services are also directly available to pregnant women and anyone who smokes in general, such as Smokers Hotline.
