The Dryden Regional Health Centre is chiming in on a Northwestern Health Unit study into dental rates.
CEO Wade Petranik says problems with oral health leads to major chronic disease and other problems that impact the health care system.
Petranik says the report also brought attention to a number of vulnerable populations with poor dental health.
He says more awareness needs to be raised on proper dental care.
According to the report, 85% of the participants required further dental treatment after their examination.
30% of the participants stated they have avoided the dentist over the past year due to costs.
52% in the study were men and the overall average age was around 41-years-old.
