The Northwestern Health Unit is promoting its “Health Before Pregnancy Life” plan, which provides the need-to-knows about pregnancy and staying healthy before becoming pregnant.
Reproductive Health Nurse Kathy Bryck says the plan can be picked up at any health unit office.
Bryck says important things to consider are eating well, taking folic acid and avoiding alcohol and cigarettes.
Bryck notes the document also offers healthy tips for women during pregnancy.
She notes pamplets are also available for men.
