The Northwestern Health Unit will be seeking more funding from municipal governments in the Kenora and Rainy River Districts this year.
At a recent board meeting, the Health Unit confirmed it was passing on a two percent hike in its annual levy.
The levy will increase from 34.30 to 35 dollars per capita.
The Health Unit says it needs the extra funding to carry out mandatory services.
It currently offers 80 percent of programs mandated by the provincial government.
