Health Unit Hoping To Keep Dental Program

The Chief Executive Officer of the Northwestern Health Unit is hoping the province decides to retain the Low Income Dental program.

The initiative that provides preventative services like fluoride varnish and no cost dental care to children who need it is on the chopping block.

Mark Perrault says they have been told their may be changes on the horizon.

Perrault says nothing has been finalized on how the program will be rolled out in the future but he believes the Ministry has heard their concerns.

The Health Unit banded together with area communities and municipal organizations to fight the change in services.
