Health Unit Joining Police This Holiday Season

The Dryden Police Service and the Northwestern Health Unit are working together at RIDE programs this holiday season.
The Health Unit will join officers at roadside stops this month to hand out information on Canada’s Low-Risk Alcohol Drinking Guidelines.
Public Health Nurse Brittni Trudgen says they want people to know the health risks associated with alcohol abuse.
Trudgen notes impaired driving is a significant concern for public health.
This is the first year of the program.
The Health Unit says that if Canadians who drink alcohol followed the guidelines, alcohol related deaths would be reduced by about 46-hundred every year.
For more information call the Health Unit at 223-3301.
