Health Unit Out With Reminder As West Nile Season Is Here

Another summer, another year to watch out for mosquito’s.

The Northwestern Health Unit is out with a reminder of the risks of mosquito bites.

The risk of contracting West Nile Virus is very low in our area, but the public is still urged to take precautions.

Officials recommend wearing light coloured, long sleeve clothing, making sure window screens are in good working condition and choosing an insect repellent with DEET.

They also recommend removing any standing water.
