The good news is the “Heat Warnings” across our district will end this evening.
The bad news? Pretty much the entire area is now under a “Rainfall Warning.”
Environment Canada says rain, at times heavy, is expected to start Tuesday morning, and will continue into Tuesday night.
Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 60 mm are possible by Wednesday morning.
Locally higher rainfall amounts are possible in areas that receive a thunderstorm or two.
Rain will taper off Wednesday afternoon.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
Communities covered include Dryden, Kenora, Red Lake, Ear Falls, Sioux Lookout, Vermilion Bay and Ignace. So far, water-drenched Fort Frances isn’t covered by the advisory (5 pm Monday 18 July)
