Heavy, Wet Snow Headed Our Way

Prepare for our first taste of Winter.

A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Dryden, Ignace and Sioux Lookout.

A low pressure system from the southwest is headed our way.

Bill Laidlaw of Signal Weather Services says it will start with a mix of rain and snow overnight.

Laidlaw warns that’s just the pre-cursor as the heaviest snowfall hitting Wednesday evening in the 6:00pm until midnight period.

Final totals are expected to be in the 15-20 centimetre range and the Atikokan, Ignace and Upsala areas will be the hardest hit.

The Red Lake region should be spared with less accumulation.
