A 38-year-old man from eastern Manitoba faces a long list of charges following a high risk arrest by the RCMP.
The incident took place last weekend, when police spotted an SUV driving erratically in Steinbach.
It turned out to be a stolen vehicle.
Officers activated their lights, but the vehicle turned around and started driving into the wrong lane of traffic.
Police eventually deployed a spike belt, but the SUV continued to go another two kilometres before coming to rest in a field.
The driver of the vehicle was armed with a machete and refused to obey police demands to get out.
The suspect and a female passenger were eventually forced out of the vehicle.
The RCMP says three officers and the suspect sustained minor injuries.
Two cruisers were also damaged.
Ashley Sandison from the Rural Municipality of Reynolds faces 14 charges including assaulting a police officer, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
