High water levels are becoming a concern across Northwestern Ontario.
Levels on the Wabigoon River are on the rise according to Weyerhaeuser’s Environmental Supervisor.
Phil Flack says the level is now just over 1211-feet above sea level, more than a foot above the acceptable level.
Flack says the Wabigoon River has risen 9-10 inches in a week, however is at the same level, if not lower, then this time last year.
As well, Weyerhaeuser has opened up the gates of the dam, allowing almost five times the normal amount of water through.
