The Trans-Canada between Vermilion Bay and Kenora was littered with semi-trailers yesterday thanks to mother nature.
Snow and slick road conditions caused more than 40 transports to jacknife, causing them to crash into rock cuts and other vehicles.
OPP say a majority of the wreckage took place at the Highway 71 junction.
Several people suffered minor injuries.
The collision closed Highway 17 for much of the day.
