It was a busy for area hockey teams both at home and on the road on Saturday. In SIJHL play the Dryden Ice Dogs scored a 3-2 win over the K&A Golden Hawks at home. Merlyn Smith, Kyle Schroder and rheal assie all scored for the Dogs while Kevin Kauk made 24 saves for the win in net.
In Norwossa “AA” boys high school hockey the Dryden Eagles posted a 6-2 win over the visting Red Lake Rams. Jared Krantz had 2 goals while Shawn Capovilla, Dustin Harrington, Rowan Bruestsch and David Spicer each had singles. Sylvain Marion and Cody Jefferies each scored for the Rams.
In Norwossa “A” bpoys hockey the Sioux Lookout Warriors notched the second win in as many games this time over the Pelica Falls Timberwolves 8-2 at the Sioux Lookout Arena.
In Girls Hockey the Dryden Eagles went perfect thorugh round robin play at the Silver Oaks Girls Hockey Tournament in Winnipeg. The won 7-1 over Selkirk to finish off round robin play. The playdowns begin at 10:30 a.m. but no opponent was decided as of now.
