Sioux Lookout is about to welcome three thousand people to the community over the next ten days.
The annual Northern First Nations Hockey Tournament kicks off today and it has a huge impact on the local economy.
Al Howie, Director of Public Services, says studies have shown the tournament can generate as much as 900-thousand dollars with various local economic spin-offs.
Despite the influx of people, Howie says the event generally has a positive impact on the community with few problems reported.
