Ontario’s Health Minister is promising to set targets for home care services in the province.
The pledge comes following a critical report from the Auditor General.
Eric Hoskins notes they won’t do any further reviews of the home care system, after receiving two in depth reports this year already.
Hoskins says they are looking closely at all of the recommendations.
Conservative Critic Todd Smith says administrative salaries have gone up 27%, while actual patient care is deteriorating.
Smith says only 47% of those who need to see a nurse after being discharged from hospital are actually seeing a home care worker.
