Homeless Issue Under the Microscope

Homelessness is going to be a bigger issue for the Kenora District Services Board in the months ahead.
Dan McNeil is the Chief Administrative Officer and he says the Province is currently working on a homelessness initiative, which will likely involve the District Services Board.
McNeil says its too early to say what the homelessness initiative will look like, but suggests its unrealistic to put an emergency shelter in every community in the region.
McNeil adds that municipalities currently pay 100% of the non-profit housing budget in the Kenora District, and that continues to be a huge part of their budget.
