When the Harris governmnet first began downloading services to municipalities, they were told it would not cost them anymore.
However, Municipal leaders say they are being saddled with massive costs which are passed on to the taxpayers.
One such example is the Homes for the Aged in Dryden, Kenora and Sioux Lookout.
Officials say they need $1.2 million more from the local level this year.
Dryden City Manager Ari Hoogenboom says a suggestion to just no pay the bill is probably not a real option.
Instead, Homes Administrator Kevin Queen will be asked to speak to council to explain the request for more money.
