Another opportunity for Indigenous single mothers in the Dryden area to receive job training.
Applications are now being accepted for the second intake of the Homeward Bound program at the Dryden Native Friendship Centre.
Seven young ladies took part in the pilot project this year.
Program Manager Shana Hansson says the initiative provides assistance with child care, housing, life skills training, computer skills and academic upgrading.
She stresses participants will then receive internships, with the ultimate goal of obtaining a full-time job.
Hansson says the program demonstrates that to achieve residential stability and economic independence, families need more than just housing alone.
