A chance to get our younger generation hooked on fishing.
Bob Izumi’s Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire Fishing Days is Saturday from noon until 2:00pm at the Government Dock in Dryden.
Community Services Officer Denise Szachury was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show Thursday and she says the fun event is free of charge and is geared towards those aged 6 to 13.
There will be prizes, gift bags and food.
Szachury says the fishing derby continues to grow, with more than 100-participants last year.
She is hoping to surpass that number this year.
Szachury says if you don’t have a fishing rod, don’t sweat, police will have extras on hand.
You must pre-register at the Pool and Fitness Centre.
