The Leader of the House of Commons isn’t wavering from the party line when it comes to the closure of the Experimental Lakes Area near Dryden.
Speaking in Thunder Bay, Peter Van Loan stated his Government has decided to take the research money in a different direction.
Van Loan says they’ve shifted money to actual water quality improvement projects.
He says the last budget included millions of dollars to improve water quality levels in Lake Winnipeg as well as the Great Lakes.
Van Loan says he understands the local concerns but notes priorities have changed.
