Housing Funding a Surprise

Administration at the Kenora District Services Board say they are surprised but pleased with funding announced by the province this week.

On Monday, the McGuinty Government promised 100 million dollars to fix up social housing units in the province.

The K.D.S.B. will be getting 488 thousand dollars of that funding to repair affordable housing units in the Kenora District.

Adrian De Porto is the Manager of Housing and says the funding comes as a pleasant surprise, but they haven’t had any official notification.

He adds that they don’t know how the funding will be used.
