Former Ontario NDP Leader and Kenora-Rainy River MPP Howard Hampton is confirming that he’s been asked to run Federally in the Kenora Riding.
Hampton says he was asked most recently by NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair to consider running and he’s been thinking it over.
He adds Northwestern Ontario needs some change.
Hampton was asked six months ago by Mulcair to act as a consultant to the party on issues like the Ring of Fire.
Hampton was an MPP for 21 years.
