Hudson Public School has been identified for potential closure by the
Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.
Superintendent of Finance Dean Carrie says the physical condition of the 51-year-old school is the main reason.
The school is in need of the most renovations of any school in the Board area.
The School has no gym and the library is located in a portable
building.
Lac Seul First Nation has indicated plans to build its own school which
would leave enrolment at Hudson at 18 students.
Enrolment is currently at 95 at Hudson Public, 77 of which are from Lac Seul.
Public consultation will begin in September, with a decision expected next April.
