Activists from the Grassy Narrows and Big Trout Lake First Nations in
Northwestern Ontario have erected a 9-metre teepee on the lawn of the
Ontario Legislature, four days before a planned National Aboriginal Day of
Protest.
Grassy Narrows Chief Simon Fobister says they were hoping to meet with
the Premier, but were told he was too busy.
The First Nations are protesting logging and mining on land they say is their’s.
