The Ministry of Natural Resources is growing more and more frustrated with the high number of human caused fires this year.
Response and Operations Manager Dave Cleavley says they have responded to more than 100-fires this season and all but two were the result of human activity.
It’s believed the three main fires in the area on Saturday were started by human activity and Cleavley notes that will end up costing the MNR roughly $600,000 to put out.
He notes the monetary impact isn’t as important as the potential loss of life or property.
He’s urging the public to ensure all fires are completely put out before leaving.
