Human Remains Found Near Atikokan

The Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has recovered human remains in the Eva Lake Area near Atikokan. The Coroner’s office has been contacted and a forensic anthropologist will examine the remains. The investigation is ongoing assisted by the Rainy River District Crime unit, Forensic Identification Services and Emergency Response Team. A post mortem will be conducted in Toronto to confirm the identity of the deceased. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
