The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is out with some reminders to keep you safe this hunting season.
Hunters are reminded to handle firearms with care and attention at all times.
You are urged to never shoot unless you are absolutely sure of your target and what lies beyond it.
It’s illegal to shoot from a vehicle or carry a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
All hunters must wear solid hunter orange clothing.
The province is asking the public to be vigilant and report hunting violations this season.
Conservation officers will be out and about to ensure everyone is following the rules.
However, officials ask the public to make things easier by respecting seasons, sanctuaries as well as bag and possession limits to ensure Ontario’s natural resources stay healthy.
If you witness a hunting violation, you are asked to call 1-877-TIPS-MNR or Crime Stoppers at 11-800-222-TIPS.
