Hydro One is out with some helpful tips to ensure you have an enjoyable Christmas.
The Crown Corporation strongly recommends taking advantage of off-peak periods on weekends and holidays.
They say December 25th and 26th are considered holidays but not December 24th.
Hydro One suggests putting your holiday lights on a timer so they only run during off-peak hours and to ensure they are turned off before you go to bed.
They also recommend keeping the thermostat at a lower temperature.

Officials say when cooking on your stove, the pan should match the size of the heating element, so heat doesn’t escape.
Leftovers should be allowed to cool before being placed in the fridge or freezer and cooks should pass on preheating.
Hydro One also suggests avoiding opening the oven door when checking on your holiday baking.
Here are the hours you should be aware of:
On-Peak is 7am-11am and 5pm-7pm
Mid-Peak is 11am-5pm
Off-Peak 7pm-7am
