Hydro One Not Impacted By Recall

The Electrical Safety Authority is recalling almost 5,500 smart meters in Ontario.
The recall comes following some safety concerns in Saskatchewan, where at least 13 small fires were the result of a smart meter.
The ESA says the recall only applies to the Sensus 3.2 meter with a remote disconnect.
While there haven’t been any issues with that particular smart meter in Ontario, the ESA says it’s recalling the smart meters as a precaution.
It adds the recall affects only about one tenth of 1% of the smart meters that have been installed in Ontario.
The recall does not affect Hydro One customers.
