Hydro One Trying To Put An End To Copper Thefts

Hydro One is working to eliminate a temptation from its hydro stations.
The utility is replacing its pure copper ground wires with a composite blend.
Chief Security Officer Ron Gentle says they lose $2-million dollars worth of wire annually, but the impact is much greater.
Gentle says they spend another $3-million on fence repairs and replacing the copper.
He notes as they complete the work, signs are being put on their stations informing would be thieves the wire they might be stealing has no re-sale value at all.
